100 Years of Bentley: Bentley Hosts Exclusive 2-Day Launch Event
Vancouverites were treated to the burbling roar of a few special visitors to the city this past weekend. Making their grand tour of Canada, the all-new and ultra-rare 2020 Bentley Continental W12 GT and W12 GT Convertible were on display, with Bentley Vancouver's own 2020 V8 Bentayga joining the elite line up. To commemorate 100 years of Bentley, Bentley Vancouver hosted a two-part exclusive event for our dedicated Bentley enthusiasts.
The upscale festivities kicked off with an exclusive Bentley Showroom Gala hosted at Bentley Vancouver with a delectable assortment of canapes and custom cocktails, accompanied by a live jazz quartette and piano performance.
On Premiere:
The 2020 Bentley Continental W12 GT in a Candy Red by Mulliner exterior, sustainably sourced Koa veneer and Camel premium grade leather interior with diamond knurling detail on the key, control knobs and back door handles.
The 2020 Bentley Continental W12 GT in a Light Emerald by Mulliner exterior, Burr Walnut veneer and Sandal premium grade leather interior with the all-new Bentley Rotating Display. Equipped with a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine with an output of 626 hp.
The 2019 Bentley Bentayga V8 AWD luxury SUV in Glacier White with a Chrome Back Package, deep red Cricket Ball premium grade leather and Carbon Fibre fascia. Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0 Litre V8 engine with an output of 542hp.
Guests spent the evening interacting with the Bentayga and two GT's, while the VIP guest remained under cover until it's grand reveal, the 2020 Continental GT Convertible. On premiere in a pale blue Jetstream II exterior with purple ambient lighting trim to compliment a dark Imperial Blue premium grade leather interior and ornate crystal-cut headlights.
Stunning exterior design aside, and a given, a favourite feature was the 5-setting massage feature and when paired with the 18-speaker, 2200 watt sound system reverberating the bass from head to toe through the comfort seats, it was easy to spend too much time in these cars. However, it was the performance that guests would remember on the following day at the VIP Bentley Drive Experience hosted at the world-class casino resort in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Parq Casino.
With a fully packed schedule of test drive bookings, guests were offered the ultimate VIP experience of taking these feats of automotive perfection for a joyride through Vancouver's downtown core, and it's safe to say stares were drawn.
Experiencing the acceleration of these vehicles first hand is an opportunity you're not likely to forget, and can only be described as the sensation you get when your heart floats just before the roller coaster drops and you are spurred forward for incredibly smooth and exhilarating acceleration. Further to that, you can truly feel the weight and power of these cars and they corner masterfully at any speed with a 48-volt Active Anti-Roll Suspension keeping you completely level and secure. This superior handling is felt through any drive mode: Comfort Mode for smooth shifting courtesy of a smart engine and smart alternators, Sport Mode for a more dynamic drive and Bentley Mode, preset by Bentley to get the most out of your everyday drive.
Extra touches are the Park Distance Control (PDC), to assist in tight parking situations. For such a heavy, luxurious vehicle, the doors have special functionality that prevents them from swinging back and forth and handles that allow you to open the door through the touch-activation of your own hand.
